Junior Golf

Do you know someone who might want to give golf a try?

Junior Academy

2016 saw the introduction of the Junior Academy and continues to grow.  This very exciting children's academy is designed to educate children all about the amazing game of golf in a fun and friendly environment.  They will learn all about the different aspects of the game, the long game (driving, fairway woods, long irons) and the short game (short irons, pitching, chipping and putting). As well as technique, the Academy aims to inform the children of the importance of etiquette and sportsmanship. Often overlooked when teaching children, etiquette of the game is so important to learn valuable life skills such as integrity, honour and trust. And through the freindship they make it also helps them develop good communication skills; all important parts of golf and life! The academy works on a 6-week term basis with clear developmental structures in place to ensure the progression of the children.

The camps take place at the Driving Range (accessed via Willoughby Lane).

Saturday Beginners Classes

This is a brilliant introductory class aimed at children between the ages of 5 to 17 and is run by Ainee. The Saturday afternoon class provides the children with the key skills needed to strike a golf ball with the emphasis of the class on fun and enjoyment as the most effective learning always happens in a fun environment. They will learn the basics of the long game and short game along with the basic etiquette all in a safe and secure environment.

Membership

The golf club has a thriving Junior Section; a fabulous mixture of Juniors, from 5 handicap players to 30. We hold atleast two club competitions every month for the juniors to compete in and we also play in several knockout competitions throughout the summer months against other clubs....with great success!

We understand how important it is to develop juniors golf for the future of the Club and the sport itself. The  development of our juniors as players and people is core to the spirit and essence of being a member of  Sundridge Park.
